One Stop Uni Shop van

It’s full speed ahead for the University of Bedfordshire – thanks to the One Stop Uni Shop Van.

The University is launching an exciting new initiative to reach out to the community and give local students an insight into higher education.

The recruitment team will visit four Bedfordshire colleges in the specially branded van to help students with their higher education options. They will also give information and guidance on finance, student life, writing personal statements and UCAS application deadlines.

Head of student recruitment Lal Joshi, said: “It’s important to reach out to students in the local community, which is why we have come up with this special idea to get our message across.

“The van is designed to give students all the information they need about applying to Bedfordshire. We’ll be on hand to answer any questions students or teachers have about the University. It’s also a great opportunity for them to find out about the wide range of courses and facilities we have here.

“We hope to visit more colleges in the new year, so we can reach even more students in Bedfordshire and surrounding areas.”

The University is investing millions into new state-of-the-art facilities, including the new £34m Campus Centre in Luton and £40m en-suite accommodation. An additional £12m will be invested in facilities over the next three years including new equipment for the Computing and Media departments. Sports Science, Nursing and Midwifery students will also benefit from new equipment.
