Make an appointment to see a puppet show at the University of Bedfordshire’s Bedford campus next month – because you’re worth it!
Award-winning puppet theatre company Theatre of Widdershins presents ‘Rapunzel and the Tower of Doom’ on Sunday, 11 October, at Bedford campus, Polhill Avenue, Bedford.
Starting at 2.30pm, it is suitable for children aged four and over and costs £7 adults (£5 concessions).
This enchanting show promises plenty of body, volume and loads of highlights in a fresh, modern take on a classic fairytale.
With a clever balance of visual magic, verbal puns and sparkling, energetic stage presence, solo performer Andy Lawrence retells the story of poor Rapunzel, locked in a tower and suffering from the worst of bad hair days.
Boasting an original soundtrack and hand-made set and puppets, the 55-minute tangled tale is a treat for children over four - and the adults they bring with them.
Widdershins are a Bedfordshire-based puppet theatre company who have been bringing highly visual and innovative puppetry to schools and community halls nationwide for more than 14 years.
They have taken four of their shows to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival (2006-09) and gained five-star reviews for all of them.
