21 Sep 2009 14:18:48
The University of Bedfordshire’s Knowledge Hub is sponsoring the Innovation award category in this year’s prestigious Bedfordshire and Luton Business Excellence Awards.
Local companies are encouraged to enter. Shortlisted entries will be invited to attend a glittering gala awards evening at the Park Inn, Bedford on Thursday, 12 November.
While businesses are facing tough economic challenges, there are still plenty of success stories out there, with local companies becoming more innovative and proactive.
The Innovation award recognises a new company, product or service developed since January 2006, which has made a positive contribution to the economy of Bedfordshire and Luton, or a public sector project that has had a beneficial impact on business in the area.
Judges will be looking for evidence of efficiency savings, product take-up and customer testimonials where appropriate. Training and development strategies as well as community involvement will be taken into account.
Closing date for entries is Friday, 2nd October 2009
The finalists will benefit from publicity that may open up new business opportunities, and individual award winners will be seen as role models for others, as well as leaders in their field.
Companies can generate new marketing opportunities, as well as acknowledge the contribution of staff. Winners will be presented with a specially commissioned trophy and certificate.
The awards, organised by Premier Newspapers, are now in their 16th year an d recognise the achievements of leading-edge employers and individuals, acting as a showcase for the county's rising stars.
