A photographer who has witnessed the destruction of Haiti first hand is coming into the University on Monday afternoon (15 February).

Award-winning Jess Hurd is talking about her recent trip to Haiti at the Park Square campus, Luton, from 5pm (A004).

Also acting as a Haiti Appeal fundraiser, Jess will be showing images from her recent trip to document the situation in the country.

Her other work has included documenting struggles and crisis situations across the globe from the World Social Forum to the Iraq War.

Organiser Noel Douglas said: “Jess is an active member of the National Union of Journalists (NUJ) and her work is informed by a strong ethical and moral philosophy which she will discuss in the talk.”

The event, organised by the Division of Art and Design, is free and is for both staff and students. This is just one of the fundraising events for Haiti being run by the University.
