The University’s Healthy Campus initiative designed to make staff and students fitter is up and running.

The initiative, officially launched on Monday when fresh fruit was handed out at both the Luton and Bedford campuses, aims to demonstrate just how easy it can be to live a healthier lifestyle

Most of the events throughout the year will be for everyone, with a few aimed specifically at just staff or students.

Discounted facilities and a range of sports and activities will be taking place throughout the year to suit all tastes. Check out www.beds.ac.uk/sportbeds for all the updated events each month.

There are gym memberships offers at the Alexander Sports Centre in Bedford, the Vauxhall Recreation Club in Luton and Active Luton.

The ‘Reactiv8’ programme, encouraging adults to participate in sport, is also well underway.

And the ‘Get Back Into’ programme is for anyone aged 16 or over who wants to start playing sport or take up a more active lifestyle again. Booking is essential, so visit www.teambedsandluton.co.uk/get-back-into

The sports massage clinic, based in room E203 at the Park Square campus in Luton, is open to both staff and students. It is open Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from midday-3pm. For more details, to register and to book, visit www.sportmassageclinic.co.uk
