Sport Relief is coming to Bedford – and the University of Bedfordshire wants YOU to get involved.

Organised by the University, in conjunction with Bedford Borough Council’s Sports Development Unit, one of the Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Miles is being hosted in Bedford on Sunday, 21 March, setting off at 10am in Bedford Park.

Julia Lines, the University’s sports development officer, is asking for both runners and volunteers from the local community to get involved.

She said: “From teeny-tots with their mums and dads, to super sprinters up against the clock, there’s something for everyone on the big day – whether you do one, three or six miles.

“Best of all, the money you raise by getting sponsored will be used to transform lives forever. So come on Bedford, rise to the challenge!”

If you are interested in volunteering on the day, email Julia at julia.lines@beds.ac.uk

The Sport Relief Weekend is taking place from Friday to Sunday (19-21 March) and is sure to be three days of energy, entertainment and events.

Friday sees everyone get active, raise cash and have a ball at home, at work or at school before watching a night of top Sport Relief telly on BBC One. Then there will be even more BBC radio, online and TV coverage throughout the weekend before the chance to take part in the Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Mile on the Sunday.

Comic Relief will spend the money raised through sponsorship helping poor and vulnerable people both here in the UK and across the world’s poorest countries.
