Students from All Saints Academy in Dunstable could be stars of the future.
That’s what they were told at a University of Bedfordshire taster day.
The students enjoyed a teaching session in the £1.2 million business pods before taking part in a question and answer slot about the benefits of going to university, entry requirements and university life.
Head of Student Recruitment Lal Joshi told the students they could make themselves stars of the future and university could be an important part of their development.
Saul Roberts, curriculum leader for business and ICT at All Saints Academy, said: “We wanted students to experience university so that it would open their eyes to what it is all about. I hope today showed them that it’s not as daunting as some might expect and that it’s an option for them all.

“Going
to university is definitely a step in the right direction and teaches skills
which
are desirable in today’s workplace.”
All Saints student Lewis Midson said: “Today has opened my mind. I wasn’t sure whether I would go to university, but now I’ve made up my mind to go. I really enjoyed how interactive the teaching session was.”
Another student, David Greene, added: “I had already applied to study media at Bedfordshire, so today has confirmed that I definitely want to come here.”
The
next open day is Saturday, 6 February at the Luton campus and Saturday, 13
February at the Bedford campus.
