Two students from The Business School at the Bedford campus of the University of Bedfordshire have received awards.
The University has worked with the local Chartered Management Institute (CMI) over the last three years by hosting events for its members.
The local branch in return makes an annual award to the most improved Business School student in the last year and its top graduate.
The awards ceremony was held at Polhill last Tuesday (22 June) with the focus on knowledge management and the event was open to CMI members and the University’s students.
Presentations were made by senior lecturers Peter Waterhouse and Simon Reilly on how organisations can develop their knowledge management systems to improve customer relationships and management of the firm.
Veronica Rigby from the Knowledge Hub also gave a presentation on the benefits of the Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTP) schemes to both employers and students.
Shaun Bowman, the chair of the local CMI branch, presented the awards to the students.
Kerry Richardson received the award for best graduate, having achieved outstanding grades in all of her final year units and attaining a challenging position with a local construction company.
The most improved student award went to
second year Isaura Collyer for her progress at levels one and two of the BA
Business Management course.
