Four students from the University of Bedfordshire are making movies in Russia.
They are spending the next fortnight in the country as part of an exchange trip with the St Petersburg State University of Cinema and Television.
The quartet fly out to Russia this Sunday (4 July) as part of an ongoing partnership which will see their counterparts then visit the UK.
The four - the Media Production trio of Conor Hughes, Olivia Paolucci and Kirsty Slade and TV Production student David Watts - are being joined by Senior Lecturer and Course Leader MA Documentary Dave Green as well as technical support/tutor Igor Drozdov.
Also out there at the same time in an ambassadorial role will be Professor James Crabbe, the Dean of the CATS (Creative Arts, Technologies and Science) Faculty.
The month-long film project will then continue as four Russian students will come over to Luton on 21 July for a fortnight.
Students have been busy writing scripts and exchanging ideas over the internet in preparation. Film shooting will take place in Russia and England and separate ones will be set in both countries on the theme of language and miscommunication.
The four Bedfordshire students were selected from a competition in which they produced a one-minute film entitled Why I want to go to St Petersburg.
Dave Green said: “It’s a fantastic opportunity for our students, just like it is for our Russian counterparts. It hasn’t been easy to sort out but it will help to develop further links with St Petersburg.”
