A ‘model’ student who is hoping to study at the Bedford campus this September was crowned Miss Charity 2010 at a recent qualifying event for Miss England.
Danielle Palmer, who lives in the town, also came fourth overall in the Miss ModelZed finals at the City Rooms in Leicester recently.
Dynamic Danielle, who is set to study her PGCE in Secondary Dance at Bedford, scooped the Miss Charity accolade after raising more than £6,000 for Rainbows Children's Hospice.
She is a former member of Southampton University Officer Training Corps and her partner is currently serving in Afghanistan with his unit.
Danielle won the title by organising visits to a variety of barracks and military training centres all over the UK. The winner of a raffle claimed the prize of a picnic supper with her called Sealed with a Kiss.

She said: “It was so much fun! The visits to my many military contacts across the country were very popular and helped me raise so much for the charity.”
ModelZed Promotions is a leading model and promotions agency which sources models to events all across the UK. It has been organising heats for Miss England since 2005 and the owner, Kate Solomons, is also the Miss England show presenter.
The winner of Miss ModelZed, Shanice Goddard, will represent the agency in the Miss England grand finals at the end of August for a chance to compete in Miss World.
