The CRELLA Research centre at Putteridge Bury campus recently held a Summer Research Seminar for staff and PhD students.
The event enabled researchers to provide updates on their investigations into language testing, assessment and language learning. CRELLA, the University's Centre for Research in English Language Learning and Assessment, is a recognised world leader in these areas.
Dr. Stephen Bax, who coordinated the Summer Seminar for CRELLA said, "We were very pleased with the level of attendance and the high quality of research papers presented."
One highlight was a live presentation across the internet from Serge Koreevar, a PhD student in Saudi Arabia.
Other
talks reported on research into vocabulary in language learning, cognitive
aspects of reading and writing, narrative texts and motivation. The seminar attracted
presenters and an overseas audience, as well as speakers from other UK
universities.
