Around 150 pupils from Biddenham Upper School near Bedford spent a Taster Day at the University of Bedfordshire’s Luton Campus recently to get a glimpse into student life.
The Year 12 students attended a presentation by the Psychology Department, a campus tour and a practical session exploring the university application process. The day was rounded off with a questions and answers session with some of the University’s current undergraduates.
For some of the sixth formers this was their first time experience at a university. Over the coming months they will consider what subjects to study and which institutions to apply to.

Nicky Kemp, Head of Sixth Form was pleased with the visit. This is her fourth trip to the University with the school and she was delighted how well the day went.
She said: “On each visit the University really looks after us. It feels like the day’s programme is bespoke for our School and our students finish the day saying they feel very positive about what university life can offer them.”
The University’s Head of Student Recruitment Lal Joshi, said: “I am really pleased we were able to give Biddenham’s students an experience of university life and provide a sense of what it’s all about. It’s important they get this experience early on in the UCAS process.”
