Students from Marketing and Communications reeled in the top prize for the second year running at the Who’s the bigger fish? competition.

Alexia Francesca Grech, Alex Georgiana Doboeau and Igor Cotruta scooped first place in the event organised by the Centre for Personal and Career Development (CPCD) in partnership with The Business School, Students’ Union and the Centre for Excellence in Teaching and Learning.

Alexia said: “We were thrilled to win. We had stiff competition from law, accounting and human resources (HR) but we had prepared our presentations well and everything went fine on the day.”

The Who’s the bigger fish? event is an employability skills competition in which teams from Marketing and Communications, Law, Accounting and HR gave presentations around a series of themes including problem solving, organising and initiative.

They were judged by a panel of experts from the worlds of banking, law, recruitment and the media.

Event organiser and link-Careers Adviser to The Business School Ajaz Hussain said: “This event provided an excellent platform for The Business School to showcase its student talent to industry experts, providing a unique experience and insight into graduate recruitment and selection.”
