Love fashion? Then you’ll adore some of the workshops being staged as part of the Luton Arts Festival.
The festival, which is being sponsored by the University of Bedfordshire, was formerly known as B:Fest.
A number of workshops are taking place including one aimed at budding fashion designers, hairstylists, make-up artists, models and fashion photographers.
The fashion workshops are teaching skills in clothing design, make-up artistry, modelling and video and photographic production. Toni&Guy are also running a series of training sessions in association with the workshops to teach hairstyling techniques.
The workshops will work towards getting participants ready to take part in the Luton Arts Festival fashion show on Friday, 30 April.
Workshop co-ordinator Natalie Leonna has been running similar workshops in London for the past five years.
Natalie said: “The workshops are a great way to inspire young people to engage with all elements of the fashion industry.
“For those wanting to pursue a career path in this area, there is a real opportunity to gain some fantastic experience and skills to put on a CV and demonstrate to potential employers.
“The fashion show will also act as a fantastic finale where participants can demonstrate all the hard work that’s been put in during the workshops.”
The workshops are taking place in the Luton Arts Festival Community Arts Space in the Luton Indoor Market every Saturday leading up to the festival from 2-4.30pm. If you would like more information or to register for a place, call Natalie on 07940 710399.
The Toni&Guy hair session training will take place on Thursday evenings from 7pm onwards. If you would like register to take part, call Jess on 07590 289349 or alternatively pop into the town centre salon.
