A ‘model’ student who will be studying at the Bedford campus later this year is hoping to reach the finals of Miss England.
Danielle Palmer, who lives in the town, is studying her PGCE in Secondary Dance at Bedford from this September.
She is one of 30 girls selected for the Miss ModelZed finals at the City Rooms in Leicester on Saturday, 12 June.
The winner of Miss ModelZed will represent the agency in the Miss England grand finals for a chance to compete in Miss World.
ModelZed Promotions is a leading model and promotions agency which sources models to events all across the UK. It has been organising heats for Miss England since 2005 and the owner, Kate Solomons, is also the Miss England show presenter.
Danielle said: “This is the first time I have entered a heat for Miss England and I would love to become Miss ModelZed 2010.
“I’m a very outgoing person who enjoys performing arts as well as more adventurous sports such as hiking and polo.”
Danielle is a former member of Southampton University Officer Training Corps and her partner is currently serving in Afghanistan with his unit.
She is also hoping to win the title of Miss Charity by organising visits to a variety of barracks and military training centres all over the UK which have already been sent promotional posters. The winner of the raffle will claim the prize of a picnic supper with Danielle called ‘Sealed with a Kiss’.
Danielle said: “I have many military contacts across the country and have organised visits to each of their units. It’s been very popular so far and helped me raise funds for the charity.”
All donations and money collected will go directly to this year’s charity, Rainbows Children’s Hospice.
