The University of Bedfordshire is continuing to build strong education, sport and tourism links in the Far East.
Negotiations are ongoing with a Government-sponsored organisation in Malaysia, FELDA (The Federal Land Development Authority), which runs its own school system and also boasts a Malaysian Premier League football team.
The Head of Development and Innovation at FELDA, Mr Faizoull Ahmad, had discussions with a number of staff from various University departments at the Putteridge Bury campus before receiving a tour of the facilities at the Bedford campus.
He was then joined by Director General Dato’ Dzulkifli Abd Wahab the day after for a tour around the Luton campus which coincided with an applicant open day.

They were accompanied by Dr Gordon Mellor, Head of the Department of Physical Education and Sport Studies, and Harry Wang, Director of the International Office, and were later joined by the Vice Chancellor, Professor Les Ebdon CBE.
Dr Mellor said: “They were very impressed with the facilities at the Luton campus and how busy it was at our open day.”

The University is also hopeful of having the unique opportunity of conducting research on FELDA itself, with the information then benefiting their Malaysian hosts.
