TV production graduate Jodie Lockwood has secured a contract working on the next series of Big Brother.

Jodie, who graduated this month (July) from the University of Bedfordshire in Luton with a BA Hons in Television Production, is thrilled to be involved in the popular reality show, to be shown on Channel 5 from August.

“I’m really exciting about this new role as it will give me lots of work experience. I have been doing some freelance work, but this is a full-time post and a long contract,” explained Jodie, who lives in Luton.

Big Brother is being filmed at Elstree in Hertfordshire and Jodie will be part of the reality production team working for Big Brother creator Endemol. This will involve setting up the house and helping to organise tasks for the contestants.

Jodie has been working one day a week as a freelance production runner on the Lee Mack’s All Star Cast, which is being filmed at Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire. This has given Jodie great experience as she has been looking after celebrity guests and helping to keep the 200-crew up to speed with the paperwork.

“We have been filming every Wednesday and then the show goes out two days later. There have been some great guests on the show, including Tess Daly, Fern Britton, James Blunt and Frank Skinner - and, of course, Lee Mack himself,” added Jodie.

At the University of Bedfordshire Jodie worked as one of the managers of TV Lab, a special project that successfully transmitted the first live television programme from the University’s TV studios at the Luton campus. This was one of Jodie’s special projects as part of her degree course.

Kathryn Wolfe, Course Leader TV Production, said: "I am thrilled that Jodie has joined the list of very successful University of Bedfordshire Television Production graduates who are making great strides in the TV industry. Her appointment at Endemol's Big Brother proves yet again that our students are among the best."
