The University of Bedfordshire is on top of the world – thanks to Luton businessman Partha Dey.
Partha, who runs the logistics business National Sameday, was sponsored by the University in his quest to climb Mount Everest.
To celebrate his successful climb and thank the University for its support Partha had his photo taken at the summit displaying the University of Bedfordshire logo.
And on his return Partha gave a presentation frame of the picture to Vice Chancellor Professor Les Ebdon CBE who said: “What a fantastic achievement. We were delighted to support Partha in this challenge and I am thrilled to accept this gift which shows the University on top of the world.”

Partha spent 54 days in the Himalayas climbing the 29,000ft peak. He lost seven kilos in weight and on the last leg climbed for 19 hours surviving on just three jelly babies.
He said: “It was incredibly hard and very dangerous. There were eight deaths on the mountain during my expedition and I passed a man on the way up kneeling who I found out later had been dead for two days.
“But our planning was meticulous and we waited for the weather to change before the final ascent so that we had enough time to climb to the top and come down safely. I am very grateful to the University for its support and I was delighted to present this picture to Professor Ebdon of the University brand on top of the world.”
