Around 100 people flocked to the University of Bedfordshire’s Luton campus on Thursday (16 June) to hear TV Doctor Hilary Jones give a special talk on Medicine and the Media as part of Universities Week.

Dr Jones, a qualified GP and regular health adviser on television and radio, shared the platform with the University’s research expert Professor Gurch Randhawa, Professor of Diversity in Public Health and Director of the Institute for Health Research, who spoke about organ donation.

Their talk was a highlight of Universities Week, an annual, national campaign that aims to showcase universities and demonstrate how everyone benefits from the work they do.

Feedback from the event was very positive. One attendee said: “I thoroughly enjoyed it – it was very entertaining and informative” and another added: “It helped me to understand more about organ donation.”
