The University of Bedfordshire’s Finance Team has won the prestigious Outstanding Finance Team category in the Times Higher Education Leadership and Management Awards 2011.

Now in their third year, the awards are a highlight of the academic calendar and designed to celebrate the sector's leadership, management, financial and business skills.

The team beat off stiff competition from other universities across the UK to take the top honour.

The University’s Vice Chancellor, Professor Les Ebdon CBE said: “We have a great Finance Team, ably led by my Deputy Vice Chancellor, Donald Harley. They ensure that we have costs under control and run the most efficient University in the country.

“I am thrilled that we have been recognised by this prestigious award, not only because it enhances our reputation both in the UK and internationally, but also because it acknowledges the superb work of our Finance Team”.
