International Student Welcome Party - 1

More than 250 excited guests made sure the International Student Welcome Party was a night to remember.

Designed for the September and February student intakes, the free event was organised by the International Office and took place in the new Campus Centre at Luton.

All the performers were current University students and they came from countries as diverse as China, Kuwait, Pakistan, India and Hungary.

The Vice Chancellor, Professor Les Ebdon CBE, and the Deputy Vice Chancellor (External Relations), Professor Ashraf Jawaid, both attended and spoke on the night.

Sarah Jennings, the events organiser from the International Office, said: “The students all thought it was a great evening and can’t wait until the next one!

“All the performers were our own students and were well received. The dance floor was never empty throughout the evening and it was generally always packed.”

Another free event is planned for the next student intake in April/May where it is hoped there will also be African and Thai performers.
