One film buff from the University of Bedfordshire is being heard on a weekly slot on BBC Three Counties Radio.
Joanna Callaghan is a Senior Lecturer in Video Production at the Luton campus and is also an experienced film-maker herself.
She has been part of a four-strong entertainment panel on Roberto Perrone’s weekday drivetime show since the end of January.
The panel reviews films, television, theatre and dance on Friday evenings from 6-7pm in readiness for the weekend.
Joanna’s speciality is films and she watches some of the new releases at the cinema to be able to provide some informed comment ahead of a group discussion.
The panel comprises Joanna, along with host Roberto Perrone, Dr Peter Lovatt and Ian Brown and guests are heard on the phone or in the studio.
She said: “It’s very relaxed and an interesting panel; the time flies by and it’s a fun hour.”
Joanna, whose particular area of interest is practice-led research, is starting to shoot her next film in Luton in April and the ‘philosophical thriller’ will see her working with some of the University’s own students.
She can be heard on Three Counties Radio on either 95.5fm, 103.8fm or 104.5fm.
