Four staff members at the University of Bedfordshire are running the 2011 Virgin London Marathon for some fantastic causes.
Anne-Marie Kinsella, Kai Allen, Sarah Deed and Professor John Brewer are all running the 26.2 miles on Sunday, 17 April.
Anne-Marie, who works in Human Resources, is running along with her twin sister, Elizabeth.
They are raising money for little Lilly MacGlashan, who is also a twin and has attracted both local and national newspaper headlines recently. Lilly, who is little over a year old and comes from Dunstable, has a rare form of cancer and her family are desperately trying to raise a minimum of £300,000 for life-saving surgery in America.
Anne-Marie said: “We know that times are hard for everybody but we would be really grateful – as would Lilly and her family – if you would sponsor us. We want to raise as much money as we can for Lilly so she can get the treatment she desperately needs.”

Sarah, who is the finance officer for the MARC department, is raising sponsorship money for The Guide Dogs for the Blind Association.

Professor Brewer, the Director of Sport, is running to raise funds for the Dame Kelly Holmes Legacy Trust, the University’s chosen charity of the year. If successful, it will be the 13th London Marathon he has completed.
He is also delivering four seminars a day for runners on ‘hydration and refuelling’ at the pre-race Expo and Pasta Party, which all 35,000 runners at London have to attend in the four days leading up to the big race.
