Three, two, one and action! The red light signalled go for students from the University of Bedfordshire in Luton when they transmitted their first live TV show and recorded a show in front of a live audience.
The live show students – Jodie Lockwood, Ram Krishna Tripathi, Carl Akkouh, Jonny Watson and Vaidotas Urbanavicius - are all from the BA Hons Television Production course and worked on the three-hour show that went out on campus screens on April 14 as special course project.

Vice Chancellor Professor Les Ebdon CBE was interviewed by guest presenters Dennie Morris and Suriya Bala, who previously presented a third year assignment programme, Brunch, at the University.
Other guests included Peter Dean, Head of Division Media Arts and Production, Marie DaSilva from Careers and Employment Service, TV Production co-ordinator and film-maker Igor Drozdov and student managers from Radio LaB.
Other elements of the show were based on the work of both current and former students from the Creative Arts, Technologies and Science (CATS) faculty.
The TV production students had another first in April when they recorded a quiz show called Where in the World? In front of a live studio audience.
Developed by Laura Jackson, Stuart Watson, Andrew Roy Barrett and Oliver Wells, the show was hosted by stand-up comedian Danny Steele and featured other comic panellists. Rehearsals took place from 9am on the day with the recording at 5pm.

Kathryn Wolfe, Course Leader TV Production, said: “Both of these productions are significant landmarks in the development of TV Production at the University of Bedfordshire.
“All students involved helped to foster the incredible team work within the Course. I am very proud of the students who are successfully pushing the boundaries and raising standards year on year. There is no looking back now, and this is the beginning of the University’s TV station. “
