New Chief Information Officer Appointed

Wojtek Adamek has been appointed Chief Information Officer at the University of Bedfordshire.

Wojtek heads up the University’s Information Services Directorate (ISD). The Directorate provides Information Systems support, IT infrastructure and desktop IT and AV support for more than 3,000 computers and over 200 teaching rooms across the University’s five campuses.

Wojtek was previously Information and Communications Technology Director at London South Bank University for four years, during which time he developed an IT strategy and deployed major systems and infrastructure projects including Business Intelligence, networking and desktop support and delivery.

Before that he had more than 20 years’ experience managing IT in the private sector at companies including L’Oreal, Gillette and Reliance Security Services.

Speaking about his new role, Wojtek said: “Having lived in Luton for over 20 years, I have seen the University evolve into the success story it is today.

“The University is highly respected and is ambitious for the future. I view my role as enabling Information Services to be a key strategic partner in delivering the University’s corporate plan and to deliver key IT projects enhancing the staff and student experience.”

Wojtek Adamek succeeds Al Freimanis who retired as Director of Information Services in July.
