Colin Davies was recently appointed the new Head of Division of Art and Design at the University.
Colin has several years’ experience managing arts departments both in colleges and the higher education sector. He was most recently Head of the Design Department at Liverpool John Moores University.
Colin joined Bedfordshire earlier this year to begin the transition in the Division’s leadership. The former Head, John Stephens, retired from the University last month.
Colin said: “I’m delighted to be leading the Division of Art and Design and intend to build on the legacy John Stephens created here, with fantastic staff and state of the art facilities in the Division.
“When I arrived earlier this year I felt a great energy and ‘can-do’ attitude right across the University and this does come through in the students’ high quality work.
“Looking ahead I intend to develop further the Division’s profile nationally and internationally. This includes promoting our annual Fashion and Design Show and developing other new innovations enabling arts students to demonstrate their creativity including developing automotive design, fashion trending and forecasting and continuing professional development in digital design.”
