The University of Bedfordshire’s Department of Computer Science and Technology will open its brand new graphics facilities on Tuesday, 1 November.

The new lab has been equipped with 30 top of the range PCs, donated by education provider Train2Game, to support the Department’s course provision in creative technology and in recognition of the Department’s continued collaboration with Train2Game.

Train2Game Principal Myra Smallman said: “Train2Game has already taught many thousands of students through our innovative methods; we aim to bring reality into our teaching which the students will need in the real world; our courses are developed and delivered by the industry for the industry. This University has been pioneering the same ideology and principles as Train2Game and this is why we are delighted to support their endeavours.”

The Dean of the Faculty of Creative Arts, Technologies and Science, Professor James Crabbe said: “I am delighted that Train2Game are donating computers for our new computer laboratory. This will ensure students will be using the latest equipment, which will considerably enhance their employability.”

The new equipment will enable the department to teach students about the latest technology and development with hands-on skills, and enhance their learning experience and employability.

The evening will start at 6pm, followed by an introduction to the Graphics courses, a presentation on the lab infrastructure and capabilities, as well as demonstrations.
