Young people awaiting their A-level results later this week are being urged to "make it happen" by becoming a student at the University of Bedfordshire.

With this year’s Clearing operation opening on Thursday 13 August, Vice Chancellor Bill Rammell says that going to University can be a life-changing experience, and encourages young people in the region to find out what it is like to be a student at the University of Bedfordshire.

"Whatever your dream, we’ll develop your talent to make it happen, right here at Bedfordshire," Bill Rammell said.

"A-level grades are not an indicator of whether a student will succeed at University. So it doesn't matter what A level grades you have, you can still get a good degree here.

"And going to University is more than just a degree. The confidence and life skills you'll gain from being a student will be invaluable once you graduate, making you more likely to succeed in work, and in life."

Bill Rammell

Bill Rammell made enhancing the student experience his highest priority when he joined the University in 2012 and Bedfordshire is now one of the top-ranking universities in the country for improving the student experience. He adds:

"Students who choose to join the University of Bedfordshire can be confident we are committed to ensuring they will have the best possible student and learning experience, backed by high quality teaching, outstanding facilities and great student support.

"My message to students is – whatever your background or ability, you can flourish here at Bedfordshire. Join us and make it happen.”

The University of Bedfordshire's Clearing hotline number is 0300 3300 703 and it is open now. The University also has a Live Chat team available to answer any questions or queries prospective students may have about the courses available, studying at the University of Bedfordshire and university life in general.

Prospective students will also have the opportunity to look around the University’s Luton, Bedford and Milton Keynes campuses, check out the student and teaching facilities, visit the student accommodation and have face-to-face meetings with the Admissions team, who will answer any queries students have about applying to the University of Bedfordshire.

The University of Bedfordshire will have courses available in a wide range of subject areas, from Art & Design, Biomedical Science and Business Studies to Computer Science, Law and Sport & Exercise Science.

Details of all the courses available, how to contact the University, campus tours and Open Days can be found at the University's dedicated Clearing website.
