University Campus Milton Keynes (UCMK), part of the University of Bedfordshire, unveiled its expanded Saxon Court setting yesterday (Aug 11), with local dignitaries viewing the new facilities and prospective students experiencing a flavour of the courses on offer.

In addition to the big reveal, it was announced that eligible students – full-time undergraduates on full-length degrees – joining UCMK this academic year will receive a £1,000 bursary to go towards living costs.

The High Sheriff of Buckinghamshire was amongst those taken around to see a range of teaching rooms, an extended library and a new café. Also revealed was the Apex Suite, a purpose built facility which instigates collaboration with local businesses.

Following a tour of the space, there was a welcome from Dr Paul Sant, Associate Dean of UCMK, followed by a speech from Vice Chancellor of the University of Bedfordshire Bill Rammell. There was then the opportunity to take part in taster sessions in journalism, business, computing and teaching which were put on for prospective students.
