Abdulmaten is a lecturer in project management in the Business Systems Department of the University of Bedfordshire Business School. He is in the last stage of his doctoral program (PhD Business Administration) in the Decision and Cognitive Science Research Centre, Manchester Business School. Expected award date is July 2012. He is a member of the Business and Information Systems Research Centre (BISC), University of Bedfordshire, and member of Project Management Research Group in the Business Systems Department, University of Bedfordshire.
Abdulmaten holds a master degree, MSc. Project management, from Heriot-Watt University. He got it in December 2007. He also holds a BSc (Hon) in Civil Engineering, specialised in Construction project management. He got it with a top-of-class grade from Al-Baath University, Syria in August 2003.
Abdulmaten has a very good experience in academic and professional work. Before joining the University of Bedfordshire, he worked as a teaching assistant in Manchester Business School, Strathclyde Business School and the faculty of Civil Engineering in Al-Baath University in Syria. Between 2003 and 2006, Abdulmaten worked as a construction project manager in a private construction company before coming to the UK to continue his PG studies.
Currently, he is the first year manager of the BA(Hon) Business Management program in Bedford Campus and teaches Foundation of Business Management unit. He also teaches Quality and Risk Management unit in the MSc. Project Management program in Putteridge Burry campus. Abdulmaten is an employability fellow representing the Business Systems department the employability committee of the University of Bedfordshire.
