Senior Lecturer in Business Systems

Qile He

Qile also known as Horace is a senior lecturer in Business Systems at University of Bedfordshire Business School. Qile is a Fellow of Higher Education Academy. He is currently the leader of the Operations and Knowledge Management Group (OKM) within Business Systems Department. He is also a member of the Business and Information Systems Research Center (BISC), University of Bedfordshire, and member of Business and Management Research Institute (BMRI), University of Bedfordshire. Qile also remains a member of various international research organizations.

Qile has achieved a Distinction in BA Economics from University of Colorado at Denver, USA in 2000. He also gained an MSc in Information Management and Information Systems from China Agriculture University in 2003. From 2001 to 2003, Qile has studied at University of Bedfordshire for an MSc in Financial Decision Management, for which he has achieved another Distinction and was awarded the Sir Ian Dixon Memorial Prize of the Year. Qile received his PhD from Middlesex University, London, from where he also obtained a Distinction in MSc Research Methods in Business and Management.

Qile is very active in research, which can be demonstrated from his research publications and research bidding activities. Moreover, he has been assisting other researchers in conducting or applying national or international funded research projects.

Research Interests

Qile’s principal research interest is the knowledge transfer processes and practices in the context of firms' interfirm alliances, and particularly, supply chain partnership. He is also interested in the process and nature of organizational innovation and organizational learning, as well as issues of sustainable supply chain management. He also engaged in Research Informed Teaching Projects in areas of Supply Chain Management and Project Management, through which he sought the ways to enhance teaching based on current research.
