How to apply for a research degree

To apply for a research degree, please make sure you fulfill the entry requirements and then complete the online research degree application form and upload your supporting documents.

You should have a good honours degree (2:1 or above) or masters degree or equivalent in the relevant subject area.

Wendy Hirsh

Wendy works as an independent consultant and researcher on a range of employment and people management issues. Much of Wendy's work concerns the strategies for and processes of career development, talent management, succession planning and leadership development, from both organisational and individual perspectives. Wendy is especially interested in how strategies for developing employees link with changing business and skill needs, and also how workforce development is supported by line managers.

Wendy works closely with a number of centres of expertise in the UK. She is a Principal Associate of the Institute for Employment Studies (IES), where she was formerly Associate Director, Fellow of the National Institute for Careers Education and Counselling (NICEC), Research Associate of Roffey Park Institute, a Visiting Professor at Kingston University and an Associate of the Institute for Government.
