Research
Child protection conferences are a key part of the process of safeguarding children and young people about whom there are concerns. They bring together the professionals involved in a family's life, seeking to provide a forum in which information can be shared and sound decisions taken, particularly in relation to the need for a child protection plan. They also seek to serve as a forum for working in partnership with parents and carers and, in often different ways, children and young people.
In this seminar Patrick Ayre, an experienced child care researcher, practitioner and academic, explores the role of the chair in making these meetings function effectively in the context of the research and other practice related literature.
Attendance is free to members of Making Research Count at the University of Bedfordshire and King's College London. For non-members, the cost is £95 per person.
Places are limited so you will need to book by 6 June 2012 - through your agency's Learning and Development Department or via email to mrc@beds.ac.uk or by telephoning (01582) 743085.
Confirmation of your booking will be sent by email. Joining instructions will be issued one week before the event.
