Ron is a part-time statistical advisor in the Institute; his previous experience is as a lecturer in statistics and mathematics to students in a variety of disciplines, including biological science and nursing. He has published work on multivariate statistical methods applied to time-series data and has given statistical input to a number of papers in science and health-related disciplines.
Outside the Institute he has worked as a statistical consultant to North Hertfordshire Health Authority with particular reference to helping management use performance indicators for acute services.
He is Chair of the Bedfordshire Local Research Ethics Committee and a member of the Anglia and Oxford Multi-centre Research Ethics Committee.
As well as dealing with statistical matters, he is happy to advise researchers about ethical issues which may arise from their research.
