Research
Barbara has a background in midwifery and women’s health. She has undertaken research into midwifery supervision and management, provision of maternity care at NHS Direct and privacy within maternity care settings.
She has published a number of chapters in the world renowned Mayes Midwifery a textbook for midwives on child protection, preconception care and birth injuries.
She has also published on bereavement and the midwife.
Barbara is a member of the Royal College of Midwives Research Advisory Group and has worked for them as a research consultant.
