Fiona Sim is visiting professor with particular interest in public health education, research and practice. Her main professional and research interest is in building capacity and capability across all sectors, in order to deliver better health and to reduce health inequalities.
She has been coordinator, London Teaching Public Health Network [LTPHN], hosted at London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, since its establishment in late 2006.
Fiona combines her role in LTPHN with being a part-time GP in Luton, where she is actively involved in GP training.
She is joint Editor in Chief of the international peer-reviewed journal Public Health and honorary Registrar of the UK Public Health Register.
In addition to previous senior NHS appointments including director of public health and Trust medical director, she was formerly associate Postgraduate Dean for London and Head of Public Health Development at the Department of Health.
Fiona is a QA Visitor for medical education and Fitness to Practise Panellist for the General Medical Council.
Her publications cover diverse aspects of public health and health policy, including Leadership, Workforce and UK Public Health.
