Valuation of Business Strategies of Residential Tourism Development Projects

Aim

This research aims at valuating business strategies crafted by developers of tourism residential projects in resort destinations. Business strategies include property management, branding and securitisation strategies.

Objectives

  • Review literature on business strategies for residential tourism development projects including property management, branding and securitisation strategies;
  • To build databases on residential tourism projects, on a worldwide scale (type of developer, location, size, configuration, prices, marketing strategies, property management, etc). The database will be utilised in econometric modeling;
  • To develop and estimate a Hedonic Valuation Model to quantify added-value of different strategies;
  • To assess the implications for developers, investors and Destination Management Organisations.
