How to apply for a research degree

To apply for a research degree, please make sure you fulfill the entry requirements and then complete the online research degree application form and upload your supporting documents.

You should have a good honours degree (2:1 or above) or masters degree or equivalent in the relevant subject area.

Haider M Al-Khateeb

In 2005 Haider obtained a first class BSc (Hons) in Computer and Internet Applications at Majan College (University College). The award was validated and awarded by the University of Luton (University of Bedfordshire now).

During his study, he was awarded for outstanding performance from Oman Mobile -The major mobile company in Oman - and he has also been added to the Dean’s list of best students for the graduating batch 2004-2005. In addition, he was awarded a scholarship from the University of Bedfordshire to start his PhD.

Before joining IRAC, Haider worked for two years in the IT department at his previous college on different projects as well as maintaining and developing their official website.

In 2007, Haider started his PhD research in Computer Security titled “Security and Usability in Click-Based Authentication Systems” in the Institute for Research in Applicable Computing. He was then granted his PhD in 2011. 

During his research years he was involved in a number of projects in the areas of System Analysis and Design, Web Development and Graphic Design. Currently, Haider is a Research and Teaching Assistant at the University of Bedfordshire. He also recently joined The National Centre for Cyberstalking Research.

When he has free time, he enjoys reading, designing, listening to music, swimming, playing football and travelling.

  • Best student graduating class 2004-2005, Majan University College.
  • Certificate of Appreciation for distinguished academic performance, and added to the dean’s list of Majan College's best students.
  • Outstanding Performance Cup for best students, Ruwi Secondary School.
