Research

Lorenzo Galati Giordano obtained his Master degree in Telecommunications Engineering from Politecnico di Milano (Italy) in 2005. His Masters thesis title was “Resource allocation algorithms for OFDMA systems”.
In 2006 he worked as a Research Fellow in the Department of Electronic and Information, Politecnico di Milano (Italy), developing a simulator tool for WiMAX networks and several different algorithms for radio resource management.
At the beginning of 2007 he started his PhD in Politecnico di Milano under the supervision of Prof. Luca Reggiani. His main research topics are centralized and distributed radio resource allocation algorithms for WiMAX and heterogeneous networks.
Lorenzo started working at the Centre for Wireless Network Design (CWIND) in April 2008 as a joint, short-term, Marie-Curie PhD research fellow. He is undertaking research in Cross-Layer Radio Resource Management for WiMAX networks and he is also planning to apply his studies to heterogeneous networks. The duration of the fellowship is 6 months after that he will return to his home university in Italy to complete his PhD Degree.
In his free time, Lorenzo likes travelling, improving his skills in photography, playing football, cycling, and speaking with people.
