Research

Shyam was born in a small
rural village (Giddha, Dhanusha) of the southern part of Nepal. He
obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics Engineering (B.E.)
from Institute of Engineering (IoE), Pulchowk Campus, Tribhuvan
University (TU), Nepal, in 1999-2003.After his graduation, he worked as
a Teaching Assistant for a year in Purbanchal University School of
Engineering and Technology (PuSET) as well as in Eastern Engineering
College, Biratnagar, Nepal.
In 2005, he got
an IMPIT scholarship from Finnish government to study M.Sc.IT in
Lappeenranta University of Technology (LUT), Finland. He graduated in
September 2007 as Master of Science in Technology. His Master thesis
was titled: “Performance Evaluation of Six-Sectored Hexagonal UMTS (WCDMA)
Cellular Networks”.
After his graduation, in November 2007, he joined European Communications Engineering (ECE) Ltd, Espoo, Finland, where he worked as a consultant in the field of Radio Network Planning and Optimization for GSM and UMTS networks. He participated in different projects such as 3G Optimization in NSN Stockholm, Sweden; NSN 2G Nominal Planning, Nigeria; NSN 2G Nominal Planning, Burkina Faso; T-Mobile RAN KPIs Monitoring NSN, Huntingdon UK; Elisa Benchmarking I & II, Finland.
In December 2009, he got a PhD Research Studentship in CWiND at the Institute for Research in Applicable Computing at the University of Bedfordshire. Currently he is pursuing his PhD in LTE-Advanced.
He also enjoys volleyball, football and badminton, as well as sight-seeing, travelling, photography.
