Professor Mark Lewis gave invited lectures at Leeds Metropolitan University, Carnegie Seminar Series, UK (2011) - ExPhys 2.0: biotechnology "meats" exercise science. Leeds, 23rd March 2011 and at the University of Sheffield, School of Clinical Dentistry, Seminar Series, The University of Sheffield, UK (2010) - From Jaws to Jumpers: bioengineered skeletal muscle and its applications from surgery to exercise physiology. The group had a strong presence at the 2010 BASES Annual Conference at Glasgow University with PhD students Neil Martin and Darren Player making presentations.
In October 2010, Professor Mark Lewis was appointed as Visiting Professor to Loughborough University, School of Sport, Exercise and Health Sciences and to Cranfield University, Cranfield Health.

Members of the group continue to attend the ongoing monthly RESEARCH meeting of the MCMPRG. This is in collaboration with Bedfordshire, Loughborough, Cranfield, Chichester, Cardiff and UCL. All group members present their latest findings in front of their peers and supervisors/other academic staff. This group is conducted in a “critical friend” format and prepares the delegates for presentations at national and international meetings. There have been meetings at the Bedford iLab, Cranfield , Bedford and Putteridge Bury (Bedfordshire) and UCL (National Orthopeadic Hospital, Stanmore) since October 2010.
In January 2011, Professor Mark Lewis examined the PhD thesis of Alastair Khodabukus entitled "A novel model for the study of muscle physiology and function" at the University of Dundee.
Neil Martin and Darren Player successfully completed the RS4 process in April 2011.
Professor Mark Lewis was appointed to the Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire Postgraduate Medical School (BHPMS) Research Committee.
