“I already had a good learning experience at the College when acquiring a qualification in teaching adult literacy.
It
was very convenient for me and fits in well with my lifestyle, so I
decided to continue my studies in support of my new job and enrolled on
the Cert Ed course.”
“The tutors at College are very motivating
and the class structure is relevant and can be applied in improving my
own teaching skills.
Everything I am learning fits with the programme I deliver and it has helped me improve my programme structure and build on teaching techniques.”
“I will continue to apply my new skills whilst working towards my degree, which I will complete at the University of Bedfordshire.

“I’m really enjoying the course.
The new recording studios provide a great environment to learn in, and I particularly like composing music.”
“My friend and I were given the opportunity to set up our own business as freelance composers as part of our project.
We now plan to continue the business after we complete the course.”

“I decided to come to Bedford College because of its location, and close links with the University of Bedfordshire. I chose the course after meeting the lecturers and seeing their enthusiasm for their subjects, as well as the extra teaching and support provided over a conventional degree.
"It's great that the lecturers have worked in industry as they bring their experience to their teaching and provide a great atmosphere to learn in. I am impressed with the facilities which are some of the best I have seen - we practice on the real thing, not using simulations.
"As this course has offered the opportunity to gain industry recognised qualifications such as CCNA, as well as the option of progressing to the final year of a BSc (Hons), when I graduate I will be in a strong position to pursue a career in networking.”

“My experience with Bedford College has been great.
The tutors are really knowledgeable about the subject.
The new sports centre 'Springs' has made a big difference – We now have really modern facilities.”
“I plan to top-up at the University of Bedfordshire.
Afterwards I would like to join the Marines for about five years and then move into teaching physiology.”

Angela
runs her own nursing and care franchise, and took up the course at
Bedford College to ensure she had the necessary management
qualification and was working towards best practice.
“I trained
to be a nurse but hadn’t been in training for 20 years – at first it
was a bit nerve-racking, but the tutors were extremely supportive, easy
to work with, and happy to help me out with any problems I had at
absolutely any time. Completing the Foundation Degree has given me a
real sense of personal satisfaction.”
“Through the course I’ve
met lots of skilled people, and we’ve helped each other by sharing our
own expertise, advice and resources, in addition to the College’s
fantastic facilities. “
“I’m really looking forward to graduation, and have found the College so helpful that I’m planning to study some more courses here in my spare time.”

Alex wasn’t sure which route to take once he had completed his GCSEs, but thanks to the recommendations of his friends he joined a Media course at Bedford College.
Alex achieved enormous success during his studies and was part of a team of students who won a gold medal from the UK Skills Council in the Video Production category for a trailer scripted and produced for a TV sitcom using frame animation.
“I’d never done media before, but always fancied giving it a go. I found I really enjoyed it and progressed through the levels right up to a Foundation Degree.”
“I plan to transfer to the final year of a degree at the University of Bedfordshire. Once I complete my final year at university I am looking to learn more about video editing, and maybe even start my own business.”
