Results

  • Last year a record number of students took part in the national student survey
  • Students were impressed by the high standard of teaching and approachability of academic staff
  • Students have said they are satisfied that the courses they are studying have given them more confidence and improved their communication skills
  • Students were also much more satisfied with their assessment and feedback and academic support than in previous years
  • However, students said they were not completely satisfied with some of the facilities the University provides, but the section below highlights what has been done to rectify this.

We are investing £200k each year in BREO and have implemented subject communities and consistent unit-level information in all units'

We implemented a new feedback system where markers provide feedback online, answering the questions you told us are the most important ones - How did I do? and What could I do better next time?

'Give us more books!'

We invested over £100k in up to date textbooks across all subject areas

You said

'Give us timetables earlier and make them easier to understand'

And we listened...

We upgraded to the latest version of the timetabling software and delivered simpler timetables much more quickly

You said

'We can’t find a free PC on campus at busy times'

And we listened...

We are introducing an online booking system on some PCs in the LRC so that you can book a workstation before you arrive and information screens that indicate where available PC's are located in the building.
