If you are currently open to and supported by a local authority leaving care service this guide will be useful to you.
The University of Bedfordshire is strongly committed to helping you develop the skills and knowledge you will need to be successful during your course and after graduation.
The University is proud to have been awarded The Frank Buttle Trust Quality Mark for our commitment to helping care leavers fulfil their potential and achieve their goals through higher education. We work hard to ensure that our support services are as accessible as possible for all students but we also understand you may not want or need any additional support.
As part of the University's promise to you, your privacy and anonymity will be assured at all times.
As a care leaver, you are entitled to the following optional benefits…
Please apply in the first year (2012/2013) for the National Scholarship Programme (NSP) on the online application form and when progressing onto your second year of study, application forms for the Care Leavers Bursary will be available from Student Money Advice.
Evidence in the form of an original letter from your Local Authority confirming your care leaver status is required when submitting your application forms. Enquiries can be made to the Student information Desk (SiD).
