About the University of Bedfordshire and town of Luton

Luton town centre

Luton is the largest town in Bedfordshire and has excellent transport links to the rest of the UK and the EU, and lies just 50Km north of London - 30 minutes by train.

Luton boasts a selection of pubs, clubs and restaurants as well as the Galaxy Leisure complex, which offers an 11-screen cinema, 16 bowling lanes, a bingo hall, an arcade and much more.

The Mall shopping centre is located in the town centre and offers much more than 120 shops, boutiques, and an indoor market. The largest carnival in Europe is also held in Luton.

Bedford is an idyllic riverside town, located 40 minutes from central London by train. It is home to a diverse music scene and has a vast assortment of bars, pubs and clubs,  and live music.

Bedford host many festivals including a carnival, Bedford Beer festival and Proms in the Park.

Bedford also host the Bedford Regatta and the River Festival, which are held every tow years.

In addition, there are high street stores, as well as specialist shops, boutiques and a traditional open-air market located on the banks of the river.

The Student Union's facilities at both the Luton and Bedford campuses, which offer a wide variety of entertainment and social events over the years.

The Union also runs a selection of clubs and societies, such as Athletics, Basketball, Creative Writing, Chinese Society, Drama, Islamic Society, Luton FM and many more.
