The Students Union is responsible for clubs and societies within the University. For more information and full list, go to www.ubsu.co.uk
Joining a club or society is an excellent way to make new friends in the University.
Check that your equipment is designed to work on other voltages. You can bring your own converters or buy them here at the shopping centre. Any electrical equipment you bring with you to use in the Student Halls which is over 12 months old must be safety tested ('PAT' Portal Appliances Test). A qualified electrician or domestic appliance engineer can carry out the test and issue a safety certificate. Before you can use your own electrical appliances in Halls you need to sign a declaration of safety. The declaration of safety form is included in the accommodation application pack.
If you are planning to drive ensure that you have a valid UK or International Driving License. However, the University and accommodation are within walking distance of the town centre and other areas. You will be able to walk everywhere. Parking in the town centre is restricted, therefore it can be expensive. Only a few halls of residence have car parking available, and you will have to pay for a parking permit.

There is no permanent airport pick-up service available, however, Luton has good transportation links to all airports. For more information on how to get to Luton go to the Contact Us section.
Students from Poland and Canada might not find it too cold in the winter. It tends to rain in the winter rather than snow. Bring along waterproof clothing, especially in the winter season.
