Application process

  • The student contacts the Study Abroad Office to get information about study abroad opportunities and obtains a “serious interest” application form - DOC 116.5 KB and learning agreement form - DOC 102.5 KB please email exchanges@beds.ac.uk
  • The student completes (marks three partner institutes in favoured order) and returns the application forms to the International Office.
  • The student contacts their Field Manager to enquire if an exchange would be appropriate for their degree programme and academic level.
  • Availability of University of Bedfordshire-equivalent course units at the partner institute checked by University Study Abroad staff.
  • The student receives offer of a Study Abroad place or their application is rejected.
  • If accepted, the student completes partner application forms including accommodation choice and, for Canadian partners, a health and financial check.
  • The student returns application forms to the International Office (Luton campus LRC).
  • Forms checked and sent to partner university.
  • Application forms processed by partner university.
  • For exchanges in Canada, students obtain student visa application forms from relevant embassy.
  • Following acceptance by Canadian partner, student is sent 'IAP66' or equivalent documentation.
  • Student takes 'IAP66' with visa application form, passport, photos, fee etc. to relevant embassy.
  • If visa application is successful, student receives visa.
  • Student prepares for departure to the selected country.
