The theatre is part of the Division of Performing Arts & English at the University of Bedfordshire.
The new University for Bedfordshire came into being in August 2006. As a part of this new development, the University consolidated its activity onto the Polhill campus and made a significant investment of £4.5 million to develop facilities for the arts. The University of Bedfordshire Theatre comprises 280 seat auditorium, a 100 seat Studio Theatre, a foyer area including bar and box office and plenty of on site free parking from 6.00pm.
Following a £50,000 refit of technical and lighting equipment we look forward to welcoming existing and new audiences to enjoy a wide range of performances at our space in Bedford.
The season programme is a deliberately wide ranging mix of performance work. We aim to provide access to some of the most exciting and innovative performance work being produced currently in the UK.
The development of the professional season has been supported by a range of organisations with regional and national figures being very positive about the potential for the professional season. The Hat Factory and Luton Cultural Services Trust have provided invaluable programming support and expertise in this new phase of our development.
