Simon Yun-Farmbrough is Chair of the Development and Finance Committee and a Trustee of the UK national Academy for Mathematical Sciences, Chair of Shawpoint Ltd, a member of the Investment Committee of the Royal Society, co-founder and Treasurer of Child Action Nepal, and a Trustee of the Amelie and Daniel Linsey Foundation.

He began his career at the Boston Consulting Group where he was a partner, advising financial services companies on strategy. He then became Director of Strategy and Director of e-Business for Prudential Plc, Britain’s largest insurance group. Subsequently he co-founded and was Vice Chairman of Fenchurch Advisory Partners, a leading corporate finance advisory firm.

He has an MA in Mathematics from the University of Cambridge and studied Economics as a Kennedy Scholar at Harvard University.

Simon grew up near Luton and has many family links to Bedfordshire.
