Professor Judith Lamie - Interim Pro-Vice Chancellor, International

Judith Lamie

Professor Judith Lamie is Interim Pro Vice-Chancellor International at the University of Bedfordshire and is responsible for the strategic leadership and development of the University’s global reputation and international activities.

Professor Lamie is a highly experienced educationalist, having worked in the higher education sector for over 30 years. She graduated with a first class degree in English and Education from the University of Warwick, where she also undertook a Masters in English. Her PhD is from the University of Birmingham.

During her career Professor Lamie has lived and worked not only in the UK, but also in Europe and the Far East. She began her career teaching overseas, moving into Higher Education as a Lecturer at the University of Birmingham in the early 1990s.

She has since held senior management and executive positions at the University of Leeds, Regents University London, Middlesex University and the University of Derby.

At these institutions she provided institutional leadership in internationalisation, marketing and student recruitment, partnership development, business engagement, apprenticeships and online learning.

Professor Lamie is a Fellow of the HEA, has published widely within the fields of international education and applied linguistics and has presented at conferences and training events locally, nationally and internationally, particularly, within the past few years, in the sphere of the internationalisation of Higher Education.
